IIEA Celebrates its Tenth Anniversary !
That's Right!
This season marks 10 seasons in the IIEA. Today, the IIEA is one of the most successful leagues on FMA! The IIEA has consistently had around half of the top 10 in finals for Division 1 in the last few seasons. A feat that many leagues cannot boast.
A lot has changed since the IIEA has come into existence. Groups like Lunar Anomaly (the first ever IIEA-C Champion) have come and gone, but we have many members who have brought Gold Medals and recognition to our organization (Knights Drumline Div. 1 - Powder Puffs Div. 2 - Cannelton Marching Penguins Div. 2).
What will season 14 bring? Who knows, but hopefully we will see some great performances. …
Here we go again!
Tonight kicked off the IIEA-C season with Lakers Winterguard's event, Colors in Motion! You can see the event scores here. This also means that the IIEA rankings have begun. Be sure to check after any IIEA member event to see updated rankings! They will be updated as frequently as possible.
Here is to a new season! Good luck everyone! And don't forget to check out the first IIEA-D member show this weekend!
Season 13
Well hello everyone! Its that time of the year again! A new season of FMA awaits. Yesterday started the season with many circuits having IIEA members in the top 5 overall! So far, no IIEA shows are scheduled until this weekend with the Drumming Imperials hosting the first event! An IIEA first for sure, as a colorguard group normally starts us off!
Like always, the IIEA has scheduled four regional events including Finals. Be sure to catch those every Sunday starting next week! Most of them have over 20 groups per week. Be sure to catch the reviews of those shows! If you have an idea on where next seasons Regional events should take place, be sure to send a message on FMA!
Week 3 and 4 Scores
I'm still working on getting all the event scores from Week 3 to today all figured out. I'm pretty close to being done, but I wouldn't except the site to be updated for at least another day.
However! If you noticed I did get around to putting the calendar page up. So let's get scheduling for next season. ;)
CLASS and the IIEA announce a cooperation effort!
Discussions with CLASS board members and IIEA board members began
earlier this week on working together to create a new Marching Band
league that works with both CLASS and the IIEA. The idea is to make a
complete set of circuits to compete with rival circuits Unspecified and
Colonial Association and others. Unofficial discussion between the
leaders of CLASS and the IIEA started as early as the 9th of July.
The IIEA will also be taking on more CLASS-like traits with the addition
of the scheduling habits CLASS has used since season 2 when it was the
North-East Combine. When IIEA founder Joseph Boboige was asked about
the cooperation effort, he said "This is a great day for both…
Season 10 Colorguard Shows
In case you haven't noticed, but currently five colorguard groups have sent us audio of their shows for your listening pleasure! These groups are CentennialGUARD, Nevada Mills Mustang Divas, Nobles of Grace, Night Area High School Colorguard, and Memphis Belles! Check them out using the music player located on every page!
Season 10 has officially started its run!
The first shows of the season finished up here a few hours ago. As usual, we see the colorguard shows start first and there is already some tough competition out there! Independent Novice class is the largest with over 15 competitors so far. There are also a few groups on the edge of getting bumped up a class! Citrus Guard takes the lead in the World class with it's almost 80 score. Thank you to the directors of Maniatrix and Jester Fester for starting our season!
IIEA Season 10 -- New Class Announcement
Well, it was a rough season 9 with updates, but I'm back and I promise it will go smoother than last season! New this season is that dates will only be reviewed if that date is requested. You can request them in the IIEA topic on FMA or by sending me a message there.
New to Season 10, we announce the new Open Class! This class is in-between A class and World Class! If you think your group would be better off in the Open Class and you are currently in World Class, you may make the transition this season. Thank you!
Drums on the Ohio
Well, we finished out the work week with a show hosted by the Cannelton Marching Penguins tonight. Attended by 15 groups, it was quite the "fireworks" show. Cannelton is an Independent World Class group from Cannelton, Indiana! The IIEA has been in Indiana for it's second day now, after last night's Beat of the Valley Invitational!
Competing tonight were some of the top groups in the IIEA, as well as two groups in the top 10 of Division 1 in FMA! Let's get started. We begun our night with a performance from a Scholastic Novice group, New Haven Percussion. New Haven High School is a member of the IPA league, one of the smaller leagues on FMA. However, they are no stranger to the …
Beat of the Valley Invitational
Tonights gym was packed full leaving only 25 seats unfilled at the Beat of the Valley Invitational hosted by not only a group new the IIEA, but a group new to FMA as well! The Nevada Mills Mustang Beat is a Scholastic Novice class group from Nevada Mills, Indiana. You can check out their wonderful website here!
The show caught every passerby as the show to "Hear the Beat from the best Winter Drumlines across the Midwest and North America"! And this show did not disappoint. Although small, we saw some great groups. The Drumming Imperials caught not only the attention of the judges, but the audience as well! Their show, using music from the hit film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse o…
